Clear, straightforward costs so you know what to expect
Mediation Voucher Scheme
If your mediation involves child arrangements, you may be eligible for the Mediation Voucher Scheme. This is not means-tested and it may contribute up to £500 towards mediation costs. Further details can be found here: the government’s Family Mediation Voucher Scheme.
Please note: the voucher does not cover the cost of a MIAM.
MIAM Fees
- £125 per person. This includes your MIAM (Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting) and, where appropriate, the MIAM certificate. I’ll use this time to understand your situation, explain how mediation works, and talk through the options available to you.
Mediation Sessions
£125 per hour, per person Each session is carefully structured so you both have space to be heard and to focus on practical, child-centred arrangements. I’ll always agree the likely number and length of sessions with you in advance wherever possible.
Documentation (if required)
After mediation, you may find it helpful to have a written record of what you’ve discussed and agreed. I can prepare the following documents if you choose:
Open Financial Summary
A summary of your financial information, including income, assets, and liabilities. This document is open and can be shared with solicitors or used in court if needed.
Summary of Proposals (Memorandum of Understanding)
A document setting out the proposals reached in mediation. This is not legally binding but can be used by solicitors to prepare a formal agreement.
Parenting Plan
A written record of arrangements for your children, including living arrangements and future decision-making.
£250 per document (£125 per person) I’ll always explain which documents may be useful in your situation before you decide.
Important Information
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or rearrange an appointment. Where less than 48 hours’ notice is given, the full fee may still be charged. If you’re unsure which fees apply to your situation, I’m very happy to talk it through with you in a free initial conversation.
