MIAMs
A Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) is the first step in the mediation process. It offers a calm space for individuals to understand how mediation works, assess whether it is suitable for their specific situation, and explore how it can help reach peaceful resolutions away from the court system.
What to Expect
A Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting (MIAM) is a private and informal session where we explore your unique family situation together. It’s designed to be a calm, neutral opportunity to understand how mediation works and how it might help you reach a fair agreement without the stress of court proceedings. During the meeting, I will listen to your concerns, explain the different options available, and check if mediation is suitable and safe for your circumstances. We focus on clear, plain language so you feel fully informed and empowered to make decisions about your next steps. Whether you attend together or separately, the aim is to find the most constructive path forward for you and your family.

Deciding Not to Proceed
If both of you feel that mediation is the right path, I’ll arrange your first joint session. This is a reassuring space where you can start to talk through and work on the issues that matter most to your family’s future
Mediation isn't always the only answer. Following your MIAM, I can help you understand alternative legal or semi-legal routes, ensuring you have the clarity needed to choose the most appropriate step for your circumstances.
If mediation is not suitable or either of you chooses not to proceed, I can provide the necessary certification for court applications. I remain neutral and supportive of whatever decision best suits your needs.
How We Meet
Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs) are designed to be accessible and convenient for you. I offer flexible options to suit your needs, with sessions available online via video call or face-to-face at welcoming meeting spaces. I work with families across Warwickshire and throughout the country via Zoom, so you can access support wherever you are.
